Advice from the lot, not from a course.

The owner of Lansing Car Rentals runs a fleet of more than 150 cars in Lansing, Michigan — buying vehicles, pricing them, keeping them maintained, screening renters, and dealing with the damage and claims that come with the business. That day-to-day experience is what you get access to on this call.

  • Answers based on what is working in an operating business right now
  • Honest perspective on costs, risks, and the mistakes that are expensive to learn alone
  • A one-on-one conversation about your plan — not a recorded course or a group webinar

What the call can cover

Your questions set the agenda.

The call is tailored to you. These are the areas people most often bring — pick one to go deep on, or cover several.

  1. Choosing a business model and getting started

Peer-to-peer platforms, your own direct bookings, or both — and what the first few cars and first few months actually look like.

  2. Finding, evaluating, and buying vehicles

Which cars tend to rent well, what to inspect before buying, and how to avoid vehicles that cost more than they earn.

  3. Startup costs, financing, insurance, and operating expenses

The real line items — purchase, insurance, registration, cleaning, repairs, platform fees — and how to plan for them.

  4. Setting rental rates and per-car profitability

How to price by vehicle, season and demand, and how to tell whether each car is actually paying for itself.

  5. Bookings, customers, maintenance, and daily operations

Screening renters, handling handoffs and returns, keeping maintenance on schedule, and running the day-to-day without chaos.

  6. Marketing, scaling, and lessons from growing a fleet

Getting found, getting repeat renters, deciding when to add cars, and mistakes worth avoiding as you grow.

Accidents & insurance claims

When a car comes back damaged, you need a plan — not a panic.

Accidents are one of the biggest worries for new rental-car owners, and how you handle the first few hours and days matters. On the call, the owner can walk you through how they approach it:

  • What to do first when a renter reports an accident
  • How to document damage, the renter, and the timeline
  • How the insurance claims process works and who to deal with
  • How to pursue the payout your business may be entitled to

Every claim depends on its facts, the policies involved, and the other parties, so no outcome is guaranteed. This is practical operator experience, not legal or insurance advice.

Maintenance & fleet management

A car in the shop isn’t earning.

Talk through maintenance schedules, working with mechanics, deciding when a repair is worth it, and keeping downtime low as your fleet grows.

FAQ

Questions before you book

Who is this call for?

People who want to start a rental-car business, and operators who already have a few cars and want to run or grow them better. If you have specific questions about vehicles, pricing, insurance, accidents or operations, this call is built for you.

Is this a phone call or a video call?

It’s a phone call. At your scheduled time, the owner of Lansing Car Rentals calls the phone number you provide when booking. There’s nothing to install and no video link.

What should I prepare?

Write down your top three to five questions and the most important details behind them: your city or market, your budget, how many cars you have or plan to buy, and any specific situation you’re dealing with (for example, a damaged vehicle or a claim). Specific questions get the most useful answers in 30 minutes.

How does scheduling work?

Calls are available every day from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM Eastern Time (America/Detroit), starting on the hour or half hour. You can book a time that is at least one hour from now. Each call lasts 30 minutes. Times already booked or marked unavailable are not shown.

How does payment work?

The call is $50 USD, paid on Stripe’s secure checkout page — your card details go to Stripe, not to us. Your time is held briefly while you check out. Your call is confirmed only after your payment succeeds, and you’ll see your confirmed time on screen and receive a confirmation email.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

No. All bookings are final: calls cannot be canceled and payments are not refundable. You’ll be asked to confirm that you understand this before you pay.

Will I get the same results as the owner?

There’s no guarantee. The owner’s fleet size and revenue describe the owner’s own business. Your results depend on your market, capital, vehicles, and how you operate. The call gives you practical guidance and direct answers — not a promise of income.

What if my booking details are wrong?

Email partners@lansingcarrentals.com with the date and time of your call and the correct details, so the owner can reach you at the right number.
